In Our Building

Wheel Chairs

An adult size wheel chair and an extra large wheel chair are available upon request for use during your visit.

Public Computers

Ease of Access (Microsoft’s accessibility features) has been enabled on all public internet computers on both the main and second floors.

Translation Services

Using LanguageLine, our staff are able to provide their same level of service in over 290 different languages.

During Programs

Interpreter Services

The Library will make every attempt to arrange to provide an ASL or other language interpreter for programs and events with a minimum of 72 hours notice. Please call 577-7323 for requests.

Closed Captioning

Closed captioning will be added to all recorded library programs and events.

Sensory Friendly Options

Large in-person events are planned to include sensory friendly spaces for those who need a break from the action. Please ask a staff member to direct you to a designated quiet place.

Accessibility of Library Materials

Homebound Delivery

Our Books By Mail service is available to those unable to visit the Library due to temporary or long-term disability (and their caregivers). The service is provided at no cost to you, and postage is paid both ways.

Variety of Formats

Library materials are offered in a variety of formats to meet the needs of a broad audience, including:
• Audiobooks (on CD)
• Audiobooks (downloadable)
• Large print books
• eBooks (new arrivals)
• DVDs with closed captioning or subtitles
• DVDs with descriptive audio tracks

Caregiver Resources

Our collection contains materials to promote learning about disabilities and to provide resources for caregivers. Visit our online catalog to find caregiver resources or ask a librarian. Programs of interest to caregivers are periodically offered. Check our events calendar for more information.

Other Library Resources

Bookmobile

Our Bookmobile is equipped with a lift for wheelchair access and also provides lobby stops for nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, and assisted living facilities.

Telehealth

Our wheelchair-accessible Telehealth Booth on the main floor provides a dedicated and private space for patrons to virtually connect with medical professionals.

Tech Assistance

Need help navigating your devices? Schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our trained staff to get hands-on tech help, as well as guidance on how to use the Library's resources.
