String theory is the theoretical framework in physics in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. STRING ART is not nearly as complicated, and far more fun to grasp. The Natrona County Library will host a fun not-at-all-to-do-with-physics craft program for teens in grades 7–12 on Thursday, January 23 at 4 pm in the Crawford Room. All supplies provided at no cost. A teen book club, sponsored by the Natrona County Library, will be held on Tuesday, January 28 at 6 pm at Metro Coffee Co. This month’s book is “The Chaos of Standing Still” by Jessica Brody. Carvey: Intro to Easel and Project Demo @ Tech Center

Patrons of all ages are invited to learn about the Natrona County Library’s Carvey, a 3D carving machine, and the easy-to-use software that can help you create designs for 3D carving, Easel. The intro and demo will be held on Wednesday, February 5 at 5 pm in the Creation Station. A staff member will first provide an overview in our Tech Center, followed by a demonstration in the Creation Station. The Carvey is provided by the Natrona County Library Foundation. Your Hogwarts letter has finally arrived! Come join us at the Library to try your hand at solving clues to escape Professor Vector’s detention and make it out of Hogwarts alive. Join us at the Natrona County Library in our Barbara Bush Room for this very special Harry Potter escape room experience on one of the following dates and times (reservations are every 40 minutes):

  • February 13, Thursday, from 2 pm–6 pm
  • February 14, Friday, from 9 am–4:20 pm
  • February 15, Saturday, from 9 am–4:20 pm

2020 Edible Book Fest @ Natrona County Library

Do you love books? Are you creative and clever? Do you have a great sense of humor? Are you truly a book lover? Create a mouthwatering entry for the annual Edible Book Fest to be held at the Natrona County Library on October 3rd from 9 am – 12 pm or stop by to vote on your favorite entry. The event is free and open to the public. Entries must be edible and must somehow relate to a book. The event kicks off with viewing of the entries and voting beginning at 10 am. All ages, children through adult, are welcome. The contest is free to all and prizes will be awarded in multiple categories. Registration forms are available at the library or online at http://www.natronacountylibrary.org/fest/
