Summer Hours Begin @ Library

Beginning Sunday, May 26 and continuing through Labor Day, the Natrona County Library’s main library in Downtown Casper will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed on Sundays. Call 577-7323 for more information.

Teen Book Club @ Metro Coffee Co.

A teen book club, sponsored by the Natrona County Library, will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 6 p.m. at Metro Coffee Co. This month’s book is “The Time Keeper” by Mitch Albom. The group is open to teens in grades 9-12. Participants receive a free drink at Metro Coffee Co., courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Food for Fines @ Library

The Natrona County Library will hold its semiannual Food for Fines drive June 1 through June 15. Bring nonperishable food to any library branch, including the Bookmobile, between June 1 and 15 to clear your late fees. The promotion applies to late fees on books and other library items, and does not include fees for lost or damaged items or collection accounts. All collected food will be donated to Joshua’s Storehouse to benefit our local community. Call 577-7323 for more information.

Summer Reading “A Universe of Stories” Begins @ Library

The Natrona County Library’s astronomy-inspired summer reading program, “A Universe of Stories,” will kick off June 1 and continue all summer long through August 31. Youth readers, from infants to students in grade 12, who read or are read to 20 minutes or more every day, are eligible for monthly prizes and multiple grand prize drawing entries. A variety of programs will be offered for all ages throughout summer. Youth signups begin Saturday, June 1. Adults do not need to register but can pick up a summer reading game board at any branch or online. Summer Reading 2019 is sponsored by the Natrona County Recreation Joint Powers Board, McDonald’s, Serendipity Caf?, Cluck it, and Casper Horseheads. Call 577-7323 for more information.

As part of this year’s adult summer reading, starting Saturday, June 15 at 2 p.m. and continuing on the third Saturday afternoon of each month throughout summer, science fiction film enthusiasts can watch and discuss movies at the Natrona County Library. In this month’s screening, Jake Pentecost reunites with his sister, Mako Mori, to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots against a new Kaiju threat. Free popcorn will be provided.
