Esta es una clase para personas que se sienten intimidados, rara vez o nunca han usado una computadora. Venga a aprender las funciones básicas para operar las computadoras públicas de la biblioteca. Carvey: Intro to Easel and Project Demo @ Tech Center

Patrons of all ages are invited to learn about the Natrona County Library’s Carvey, a 3D carving machine, and the easy-to-use software that can help you create designs for 3D carving, Easel. The intro and demo will be held on Wednesday, February 5 at 5 pm in the Creation Station. A staff member will first provide an overview in our Tech Center, followed by a demonstration in the Creation Station. The Carvey is provided by the Natrona County Library Foundation. The Library’s Creation Station is a flexible, community, collaborative makerspace for individuals and small groups of all ages who can use STEAM-related supplies and equipment to bring their inventions and creations to life. Cyber Security Workshop @ Crawford Room

With more and more of our lives becoming digitized and moving to the cloud, it’s incredibly important that we know how to keep that information safe. Tinkercad for 3D Printing @ Tech Center

Patrons of all ages are invited to join us for a Tinkercad class Wednesday, March 11 at 5 pm in the Library’s Tech Center. Fall Book Sale

The wait is over! The Friends of the Library book sales are back. The first sale of the year is scheduled for September 12th with the Early Bird Sale on September 10th from 4:30 until 6:30 and the Second Chance Sale on September 11th from 11 until 1. Ticket sales for the two pre-sales will begin on August 31st from 11 until 1 at the library. Tickets sell quickly since only 50 tickets will be sold for each sale. Ticket prices are $20 for Thursday and $10 for Friday. Ticket holders will gain first access to the special “Make-An-Offer” selections in the Crawford Room as well as the regular priced items in the sale room. There is no admission charge for Saturday’s sale.

Volunteers have prepared a wide variety of grab bags which will be sold for $1 on August 31st from 11 until 1 and at the actual sale on Saturday. Plan to stop by and purchase your ticket and a grab bag to keep you busy until the sales.

Thanks to the tremendous community support, we have a large number of items for this sale. All sale events require all customers and volunteers to wear masks and to use hand sanitizer. Social distancing will be in place and parents must directly supervise all children. We are anxious to see you again.

Edible Book Fest 2020 @ Natrona County Library

Join the Friends of the Library for the Annual Edible Book Festival where the worlds of books and food collide in creative and delicious ways.

  • Create an edible work of art inspired by your favorite book or author.
  • Creations can be from the title, characters, plot, or author
  • Have fun with puns or create something in the shape of a book.
  • Entries may be made from anything that is edible (cake, bread, crackers, gelatin, fruit, vegetables, candy, etc.) as long as it can be displayed for a few hours without melting or spoiling.
  • Let your imagination run free!
  • Bring your book for display with your creation or use a library copy.
  • Participation is open to all members of the community.
