Experience Virtual Reality @ Crawford Room

Immerse yourself in a new world by testing out the Natrona County Library’s virtual reality system on Tuesday, May 14. Stop by at your leisure between 4 and 7 p.m. to choose from over 30 virtual reality games and apps to play on the HTC Vive. Free and open to the public. Anime Fest @ Crawford Room

The Natrona County Library and Centennial Middle School Anime Club will host an Anime Fest, open to teens in grades 6-12, on Wednesday, May 22 at 4 p.m. at the Natrona County Library. Join fellow anime enthusiasts around Casper, enjoy anime, showcase cosplay, munch on treats, borrow from the Library’s extensive manga and anime collection, and show off your skills in one of the any contests at Anime Fest for a chance to win prizes! Registration for the cosplay and manga/anime art contests will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Limit of one piece of artwork per teen for the manga/anime art contest. The cosplay contest will start at 5 p.m. Teens participating in cosplay will need to bring a physical picture of their character with them for judging purposes. Food for Fines @ Library

The Natrona County Library will hold its semiannual Food for Fines drive June 1 through June 15. Bring nonperishable food to any library branch, including the Bookmobile, between June 1 and 15 to clear your late fees. The promotion applies to late fees on books and other library items, and does not include fees for lost or damaged items or collection accounts. Summer Reading “A Universe of Stories” Begins @ Library

The Natrona County Library’s astronomy-inspired summer reading program, “A Universe of Stories,” will kick off June 1 and continue all summer long through August 31. Youth readers, from infants to students in grade 12, who read or are read to 20 minutes or more every day, are eligible for monthly prizes and multiple grand prize drawing entries. A variety of programs will be offered for all ages throughout summer. Youth signups begin Saturday, June 1. Adults do not need to register but can pick up a summer reading game board at any branch or online. Summer Reading 2019 is sponsored by the Natrona County Recreation Joint Powers Board, McDonald’s, Serendipity Caf?, Cluck it, and Casper Horseheads. Call 577-7323 for more information.
