While no one truly needs a dragon as a pet, I would bet that most people—if given the chance—would definitely choose to have a dragon as a pet, even if it meant their house burning down. Students in grades K–6 are invited to join us on Wednesday, January 29 at 4 pm in the Crawford Room to make their very own dragon bookmark that they can keep as a pet without endangering the structural integrity of their home. Tween Monday: Good Luck Trees @ Crawford Room
Feb 3 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Join us as we make little trees to usher in spring and luck in the New Year! Throwing beans is part of the Japanese tradition of “Setsubun;” beans are used to chase away bad luck. We will be decorating glass jars with decorative duct tape and mini craft bags with washi tape, then we will fill the bags with beans and hang them from the branches of twigs–like little ornaments of good luck! The craft program for students in grades 4–6 will be held on Monday, February 3 at 4 pm at the Natrona County Library. All supplies provided at no cost. Call 577-7323 for more information.

Carvey: Intro to Easel and Project Demo @ Tech Center

Patrons of all ages are invited to learn about the Natrona County Library’s Carvey, a 3D carving machine, and the easy-to-use software that can help you create designs for 3D carving, Easel. The intro and demo will be held on Wednesday, February 5 at 5 pm in the Creation Station. A staff member will first provide an overview in our Tech Center, followed by a demonstration in the Creation Station. The Carvey is provided by the Natrona County Library Foundation. Paws to Read: StoryTime with Therapy Dogs of Casper @ Crawford Room

Paws to Read with a furry friend! Dogs and handlers will attend StoryTime on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Natrona County Library. Children can sit with therapy dogs during StoryTime and spend time reading with them before and after the program. All dogs are certified and licensed through Therapy Dogs of Casper.

String theory is the theoretical framework in physics in which the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. STRING ART is not nearly as complicated, and far more fun to grasp. The Natrona County Library will host a fun, not-at-all-to-do-with-physics craft program for students in grades 4-6 on Monday, February 10 at 4 pm in the Crawford Room. Humanities Festival: Family Afternoon of Mystery, Madness, and Mayhem with a Craft & Movie @ Crawford Room
