Do you have a special area of interest at the Library? We have both short and long term projects that can fit your schedule. Volunteers will receive orientation and training, and work under the supervision of library staff.
Some areas that can use volunteers are (please check your interests):
___ 1. Checking shelved materials – make sure that they are in the correct place and order. Be part of the “Adopt-a-shelf” program!
___ 2. Asset stewards – help keep our assets clean as a dust buster, tidy the public areas, wash the Bookmobile, or work with the plants and gardens.
___ 3. Clerical – aid our staff with routine tasks, mailings, copying.
___ 4. Media TLC – mending and cleaning of library materials, processing discarded materials.
___ 5. Distribution – deliver library public relation materials in the community, put up posters, distribute flyers, etc. (Vehicle and license usually required.)
Some of these opportunities, such as cleaning and repairing books, can be done seated at a table and some need special skills; we’ll find the best place for your talents and for the time you can give.
