RENEWALS

Most items may be renewed if another borrower has not placed requests on the items. This can be done at the library, via the web, or over the telephone. When renewing online, your user ID is your library card number and your PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a unique four digit number that was issued to you when getting your library card. If you do not know your PIN number call 307-577-READ and a library staff member will assist you. If you know your PIN you can change your PIN to another number or word online at any time by clicking on "User PIN Change" and following the instructions.

To renew items online or to review your account, click on the My Account button to the left.

The telephone renewal process is available to patrons 24 hours per day. Call the main number, 307-577-READ, extension #4 to renew using the automated system. Please have your library card number (beneath the card barcode on the back of your card) available; you will also be asked for your name and telephone number. You are able to specify which items are to be renewed.

RETURNING LIBRARY MATERIALS

Materials may be returned at the Circulation Desk return box or via the outside bookdrop located on the east side of the library. Items returned in the bookdrop after the library closes will be credited as having been returned that business day. Library items, except equipment, may also be returned to any library facility, including the Main Library, the Edgerton Branch Library, Mills Branch Library, or the Bookmobile.

FINES, FEES AND CHARGES

Overdue fines
Daily overdue fees of $.10 per item are charged. You will be notified by mail of overdues owed on the 7th and 21st day an item is overdue.

Collection fees
When an item is 42 days overdue, the account is turned over for collection and a $10 collection fee is added to the account.

Lost and damaged items
You are responsible for all items checked out on your library card. The parent or guardian signing a minor's library card application form is responsible for all items checked out on the minor's card. The borrower is responsible for the replacement cost of any lost library items; damaged items are billed at half the replacement cost if the damaged item is returned to the library.

HOLD REQUEST SERVICES

A hold request may be placed on any item in the library's collection that is currently checked out by another patron. This can be done at the library, via the web, or over the telephone.

To place a hold via the web, locate the book using our online catalog, click on the "Details" bar, then click on the "Request" icon. You will need your library card number and PIN to place a request. You will be called when the item is available for pickup. We can also notify you by email if your address is on file at NCPL. Click here to go to our online catalog.

To place a hold over the telephone, please have your item information (author, subject, title) and your library card number (beneath the barcode on the back of your card) ready. Call the main number, 307-577-READ and a librarian will assist you.
