Family Craft Night: Night Sky Coasters @ Crawford Room

Star Party @ Crawford Room

The Natrona County Library and Central Wyoming Astronomical Society will host a star party for all ages on Wednesday, June 28 at 8 p.m. at the Natrona County Library. The program will begin just before sunset with a presentation on astronomy and the dark skies of Casper. As the Sun sets and daylight fades, attendees will get to view a variety of celestial wonders through several large telescopes. Depending on the night, attendees might see craters and mountain ranges on the Moon, the rings of Saturn, Jupiter’s Galilean moons, star clusters, galaxies, nebulae, and more! Book Club Field Trip: Red Rising by Pierce Brown @ Nicolaysen Art Museum

The Natrona County Library is taking adult book discussions on the road. As part of this summer reading’s eclipse-inspired theme “LOOK UP”, participants will gather at a new location each month for a book discussion. This month’s Book Club Field Trip will be held on Saturday, July 8 at 11:30 a.m. at the Nicolaysen Art Museum. July’s novel is “Red Rising” by Pierce Brown. The discussion is free and open to the public. To participate, pick up your copy of “Red Rising” at the Library’s second floor Reference Desk, and then join us at the Nicolaysen Art Museum for an immersive experience. Retro Video Game Tournament: StarCraft (PC) @ Tech Center

The Natrona County Library will host a StarCraft: Brood War (PC) tournament for all ages in the Tech Center on the main floor of the Library on Saturday, July 8 at 2 p.m. Preregistration begins at 1:30 p.m. This free-for-all, single-elimination tournament will award the top four winners with a voucher for one hour with library?s virtual reality headset provided by the Natrona County Library Foundation. Virtual Reality Demo @ Crawford Room

Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in an entirely new world when the Natrona County Library hosts a virtual reality demo on Saturday, July 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. Choose from over 40 of the best virtual reality games and apps while being taken through a guided experience with the HTC Vive. Free and open to the public. Gameplay will last for approximately seven minutes per player. Tickets will be handed out at the beginning of the event, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Total Solar Eclipse Lecture by Casper College Physics Professor Andrew Young @ Crawford Room
