An exciting new traveling exhibition, “Pride and Passion: The African-American Baseball Experience,” will open at the Natrona County Public Library on Thursday, November 12. An opening reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the library’s main floor, featuring former negro-leagues player Mack A. Pride Jr. who played baseball with the Memphis Red Sox and the Kansas City Monarchs. The event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition will available for viewing during regular library hours November 12 through January 15. Additional baseball-related events will be held throughout the exhibition time period. For more information, call 577-READ or visit www.natronacountylibrary.org.

Pride and Passion: The African-American Baseball Experience, a traveling exhibition for libraries, was organized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Cooperstown, New York, and the American Library Association Public Programs Office, Chicago. The traveling exhibition has been made possible by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities: great ideas brought to life.
