Tech Rally
Oct 8 @ 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

A fun, fast-paced evening full of technology learning opportunities will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 8 in the Natrona County Public Library (NCPL) Crawford Room.  Discover apps, websites, mobile devices and more!  All ages and levels of technology experience are encouraged to attend.

The Tech Rally, cosponsored by AARP, will begin with an overview of how and why Baby Boomers and Seniors are using technology, followed by a series of 25-minute presentations on:  Using Free eBooks, eMagazines & eAudio from NCPL; Blogging 101; Using Pinterest; and a Windows 8 Overview. After each presentation, library staff and volunteers will be on hand for one-on-one assistance in downloading, setting up, and logging in for those who wish to try it themselves.  Attendees can also make appointments with library staff for personal assistance at a later date.

In addition to the classes, a Technology Petting Zoo will be open from 6 to 8 p.m.  This is an opportunity to try various devices like iPads, Kindles, Nooks and more, with no risk of getting bitten!  Try before you buy, learn about the benefits and drawbacks of each device, and find out what features you enjoy.

The Tech Rally is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided by AARP. Membership in AARP is not required to attend the event.  Seating in the Crawford Room is limited: RSVP by Oct 6th by calling 1-877-926-8300 – ask for “Casper Tech Rally.”
