Job Search Skills Class

Would you like to learn a new software program or brush up on your computer skills?  The Natrona County Public Library offers a variety of computer classes each month, free and open to the public.  Classes are held in the NCPL Tech Center unless otherwise noted, and no registration is required.
 
Classes this month include:
Job Search Skills, held Thursday, September 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.;
Using Microsoft Word, Friday, September 19 from 9 to 11 a.m.;
LinkedIn Basics: Online Tools for Professional Networking, Friday, September 26 from Noon to 2 p.m.;
Backing Up Your Data, Tuesday, September 30 from 2 to 4 p.m.
 
All classes are offered free on a first come, first served basis. Call 577-READ (7323) to learn more.

“Seek Your Patriot” Genealogy Workshop
Sep 11 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Do you have a long-lost family member who was in the service?  Genealogy workshops to “Seek Your Patriot” will be held in the Tech Center at the Natrona County Public Library Thursday, September 11 from 2 to 4 p.m., and a second sesson from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Annie Vercimak of the Natrona County Genealogical Society (NCGS) will guide attendees as they search for servicemen and other family members using online genealogy tool Heritage Quest, available for free use with your library card.  This hands-on class is designed for beginners but open to attendees at all levels of genealogical research. We recommend you bring a USB drive to save your work.
 
Additional genealogy classes will be presented by NCGS at your library this fall. “Find Your Family” will be held Thursday, October 9 at 2 p.m. with a second session at 5:30 p.m., providing an overview of how to use another web-based genealogy tool, Family Search Online. “Grow Your Tree” will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 13 and at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, giving guidance on organizing your genealogy work and planning your next steps.  All classes are free and open to the public, no registration necessary.
